Lady Raider Basketball to Launch Community Game Plan

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head women's basketball coach Kristy Curry has announced that starting in October the Lady Raider basketball family will be making various appearances around Lubbock to give fans the opportunity to meet this year's team.
Fans wanting to meet the team are encouraged to attend these events where the Lady Raiders will be participating, signing autographs, handing out team posters and schedule cards and posing for pictures.
"Lady Raider Basketball is appreciative of the support from the Lubbock community and we feel a strong obligation to give back," said Curry. "Our goal is to expose our players to the many wonderful people who support Lady Raider Basketball and Texas Tech Athletics. We are excited and looking forward to meeting all of our great fans at these upcoming events during our community game plan."
The first stop will be Oct. 1, when the Lady Raiders will be at the John Walker Soccer Complex to support the Texas Tech soccer team as it faces Colorado in Big 12 action. The team will be signing autographs starting at 6:15 p.m.
The women's basketball team will be making a number of other appearances throughout the months of October and November. Details on each appearance will be released at www.texastech.com prior to each event. The schedule of events is listed below.

October 2 - 7:30 a.m. - Race for the Cure
October 2 - 1-2 p.m. - South Plains Fair at Merchant Building
October 7 - 11:30 a.m. - Student Union Building at Texas Tech
October 14 - 11:30 a.m.- Student Union Building at Texas Tech
October 18 - 1:15 p.m.- Open Practice at United Spirit Arena
October 21 - 8 a.m. - Open Practice at United Spirit Arena
October 27 - 6 p.m. - Texas Tech VB vs. Texas A&M at USA
October 30 - 5 p.m. - Safe Treat at South Plains Mall
November 5 - 8-8:45 p.m. - Homecoming Bonfire at United Spirit Arena
November 6 - TBD - Raider Alley at Frazier Alumni Pavilion
November 19 - 6 p.m. - Texas Tech MBB vs. SFA at USA
November 21 - 4 p.m.- Texas Tech WBB vs. Idaho State at USA (*autograph session to follow game)
