Head Coach Kristy Curry
On Tech's performance against Kansas State
"It was a great Big 12 battle, and you have to give credit to both teams. I thought Kansas State never quit and we never quit. It was tough for somebody to lose. My hats off to them because that is hard to head back like that. Our kids again showed a lot of resiliency and toughness down the stretch, and I am really proud of them and the way we won again."
On Chynna Brown's performance against Kansas State
"She just wants the ball in her hands throughout the game. She is not afraid to take a shot. She plays the defensive end probably harder than she plays the offensive end, and sometimes doesn't get enough credit for that. I think she has really matured in her all around game on both ends of the floor. She takes pride in both ends and that is important. It is hard to make a kid a player unless they want to be and she really is fearless and not scared of a thing. She is just so calm. She never shows that anything bothers her either way, and that is a rare trait, especially with girls."
On the crowd being an advantage
"There are two things that I think about every minute of every day. It's these kids and to see them celebrate in those kind of moments because you know it's coming. We have worked too hard and done things too much the right way, but the second thing is to see these fans enjoy this. There are two reasons it's about these kids and these fans and to get this back where we want it to be for those two entities. They (the fans) were incredible today again, and I can't tell you how much it means to these kids. They really give you that home court advantage and down the stretch they were big."
Guard Chynna Brown
On making the game winning layup
"Like I have said before, we always work on it in practice so once it comes game time it is easy for me. So, when she tells me to go get the ball, I go get it. I take my time, and I don't try to rush anything. I mainly try to see how the defense is playing me, and see what I can do to get to the basket."
On the crowd being so supportive
"It feels good. It feels really great. The fans are always supportive. Every time I hear them calling my name and just chanting it makes me want to make something happen on the court. Most of the time I am just in the game, like I said, trying to rebound, set screens because I know on offense the game is just going to come and most of all try to work on my defense and trying to keep my man from catching the ball."

On making a three-pointer that sent the game into a second overtime
"I knew when Coach Curry put me in, I think we were still down by six or eight points and we were kind of struggling to score and towards the end to that, I think overtime or whenever I was put in, and I knew her intention probably was that if I am open to pull the trigger. They were telling both J(ordan) B(arncastle) and the shooters on our team, you have to know who you are as a player, and I know my strength is shooting the same as JB or Casey (Morris) and Chynna (Brown) is great at coming off the dribble and pulling it up. So, I knew that was my role, and if I am open to take the shot because we kind of struggled shooting a little bit."

On Kansas State's performance against Tech
"I think we were a little more efficient on the offensive end of the floor when they were coming back. We played a lot of the game really ineffective on the offensive end and we were constantly in catch up mode. We played little segments there down the stretch late in the regulation. Then in the two overtimes I thought they gave us a chance but to me that was big. We really didn't play well offensively for the better part of the game, and obviously, we were dominated on the boards today. It was a great effort by both (Kierra) Mallard and (Teena) Wickett. I thought they really did a tremendous job on the boards and earning second shot opportunities and some of the most costly ones were ones you hope you can prevent, which are those offensive rebounds on free throws. I thought they had a couple of very key offensive rebounds on free throws. So, when you look between the two of them 27 rebounds is a big factor in the game for their two post players and the ones again that came on the foul line were absolute back-breakers for us."
On missing free throws
"We were very weak minded at the free throw line today, obviously. We had a chance in regulation to put the game away and didn't get it done there. Then you look at our numbers five for 12. I just have no good thing that I can conceivably say about our performance at the foul line today. I can say good things about the fact that we bounced back offensively, some and bounced back defensively, but we got torched ion the boards and we got torched at the foul line and the foul line is all about us. I think the better part of rebounding is a lot about us as well. You have to put together a compete game on the road. You have to defend and board in the Big 12 to have a chance at success. Those were elements of the game we just didn't get done."
On the crowd creating a home-court advantage
"They certainly had a great crowd and great environment and just the team, like all those in the Big 12, they are going to relent and when they are at home they have that little extra that I think carries them through. Especially, they had a couple of circus shot threes down at the end of the first overtime that I thought might have been a factor at home whereas on the road those shots might not go in. You know the one that was a no call of the glass from the left wing, and then you hit the one from the baseline. So, some of that I think is home, you get a little more confidence, but you have to have the guts, you have to have the window to take that shot and then you have to make it and those guys did."
