LUBBOCK, Texas - The Rowdy Raiders, the official student body spirit group of Texas Tech basketball, is recruiting new members.
The Rowdy Raiders will host a "call out" for new members on Oct. 27 at the United Spirit Arena from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be an open Red Raider basketball practice, followed by remarks from head coach Billy Gillispie and Lady Raider head coach Kristy Curry. Students must show their Texas Tech Student ID and enter through the Southeast entrance of the United Spirit Arena and parking is free around the arena.
The Rowdy Raiders are the official student body spirit group for Texas Tech Basketball. The goal of the group is to increase student spirit on campus and at Texas Tech Basketball games, create the most exciting and intimidating atmosphere as a group inside the United Spirit Arena, and meet new Red Raiders. A passion for Texas Tech Basketball is a must for those involved in the group.
This season, Coaches Gillispie and Curry are encouraging all Texas Tech students to dress up in crazy and cool themed costumes. Students are encouraged to paint themselves, wear crazy wigs and masks to help create an intimidating game day environment.
Under Armour is the official t-shirt sponsor of the group and all members will have the chance to win many exciting prizes throughout the season.
