Women's Tennis Falls to No. 37 Tulsa, 4-3

LUBBOCK, TX - The Texas Tech women's tennis team lost their neutral site match to No. 37 Tulsa, 4-3. The match was played at the Dills Indoor Courts at the Billingsley Tennis Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
In doubles action, Texas Tech captured the match point winning two of the three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, Kelsy Garland and Samantha Adams defeated Alexandra Kichoutkin and Jo-Anne Karaitiana, 8-4. Lady Raiders Elizabeth Ullathorne and Haley Fournier downed Tulsa's duo of Bonny Davidson and Michelle Farley at the third spot, 8-4. Nikki Sanders and Caroline Starck dropped their No. 2 doubles match to Tulsa's Ewa Szatkowska and Anastasia Erofeeva, 8-5.
In singles play, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane won four of the six contested matches for the 4-3 win.
At No. 3 singles, Lady Raider Caroline Starck defeated Tulsa's No. 112 Jo-Anne Karaitiana in three sets, 6-3, 5-7, 7-5. Kelsy Garland won her No. 5 singles match over Michelle Farley, 6-3, 7-6 (4).
Tulsa won at Nos. 1, 2, 4, and 6. At the top spot, Alexandra Kichoutkin stopped Elizabeth Ullathorne, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3. Lady Raider Samantha Adams lost her No. 2 singles match to Anastasia Erofeeva, 7-6, 6-2. Freshman Haley Fournier lost at the fourth position to Tulsa's Ewa Szatkowska, 6-3, 6-2. Bonny Davidson downed Texas Tech's Sandra Dynka at No. 6 singles, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Texas Tech takes on the Razorbacks of Arkansas on Sunday at the Dills Indoor Courts with first serve at 2:00 p.m. (CT).
POST-MATCH COMMENTS
Texas Tech assistant coach Todd Chapman - "We played well enough to win the match against a very good Tulsa team. We had our chances and we didn't take advantage of the match situations to capitalize on those opportunities. Now, we'll get some rest and be ready to play Arkansas tomorrow."
