Tech's last win came during the 2006 Big 12 season when the Lady Raiders upset then No. 5 Baylor, 64-62, in Lubbock Jan. 15. Tech is 25-7 against Baylor in Lubbock.

Last Time vs. Baylor
January 22 - (AP) Brittney Griner had 25 points, seven rebounds and six blocked shots as the Lady Bears extended their winning streak to 15 games. She scored the first six points in a 12-5 run to start the second half that wiped out a one-point deficit and put Baylor ahead to stay. Griner, the preseason AP All-American, was 8 of 14 from the field 8 of 10 on free throws. Christine Hyde had 14 points to lead Texas Tech, which lost its second consecutive game to a Top 25 team since its second eight-game winning streak of the season. After Hyde hit a basket with 1:41 left to get the Lady Raiders within 57-51, Melissa Jones hit a game-clinching 3-pointer. After Griner hit two free throws in the opening minute of the second half for a 30-29 lead, Teena Wickett hit a 3-pointer to put the Lady Raiders back in front before Griner's jumper tied the game. Baylor then went ahead for good when Griner caught Odyssey Sims' inbound pass under the basket and made a short jumper while being fouled. Griner missed the free throw, but Jones grabbed the rebound and got the ball to Destiny Williams for a layup. The Lady Bears had a 53-38 lead when Sims hit a 3-pointer with 9 minutes left. Tech then scored eight in a row, six by Hyde. Jones had 13 points. Destiny Williams had 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds for the Lady Bears. Chynna Brown and Wickett both had 12 points for Tech. Kierra Mallard had 11. Sims, the freshman starting point guard, got called for a charge only 1 1/2 minutes into the game. Officials took an extended look at video replay before determining that it was an intentional foul on Sims for shoving Monique Smalls hard in front of the Texas Tech bench. Smalls went to the locker room briefly for an apparent busted lip, but was back in the game midway through the first half. The Lady Raiders got nothing out of the penalty. Brown missed both free throws, then Wickett turned it over. That came after Mallard had already been called a questionable foul on Griner away from the ball in the opening minute of the game. Sims' foul was sandwiched by Griner's short jumper and a driving layup by Jones for a 4-0 lead - the largest gap by either team in the first half. Baylor played most of it without Sims, who had two early fouls and played only 5 minutes. There were nine lead changes and six ties by the break. Texas Tech got the 29-28 halftime lead on Hyde's 3-pointer with 1:21 left.
The Last Time Out
(AP) - Kierra Mallard scored 19 points - all in the first half - to help Texas Tech beat No. 20 Iowa State 61-50 Wednesday night. It was Texas Tech's first win against a Top 25 opponent since beating then-No. 15 Oklahoma State in February 2010. Christine Hyde added 16 points and Casey Morris had 11 for Texas Tech. Texas Tech hit 11 of its first 18 shots while Mallard hit her first nine shots, but went cold in the second half. The Lady Raiders went on a 22-5 run to start the game. Iowa State shot just 37 percent from the field and got only five points from leading scorer Kelsey Bolte. Anna Prins led the team with 12 points. The Cyclones pulled within 47-42 after a 19-5 run while Texas Tech went 9 minutes without a basket. The Lady Raiders responded with a run to close out the game.

Sophomore Monique Smalls dished out eight assists versus Iowa State, tying her career high. Smalls has now had eight assists four times in her career.

Fifty Percent from the Field
The Lady Raiders shot 56 percent from the field (28-50) at Colorado, their highest field goal percentage during Big 12 play this year. It was their fifth time to shoot 50 percent or better this season.
Too Many Turnovers
The Lady Raiders had a season-high 27 turnovers at Oklahoma State, which surpassed their previous season high of 25 set at Oklahoma.
Twenty Points for Mallard

Brown Back to Double Digits

Brown had scored in doubles figures in five-straight games starting with Missouri but only had four points in each of the two games (at Nebraska, Texas) prior to Oklahoma State. She has now scored in double digits eight times this season, all coming in the last 12 games.
Career High for Morris
Sophomore Casey Morris scored a career-high 23 points in the loss to then No. 6/6 Texas A&M. Morris surpassed her previous career high of 20 points, which she set during her freshman year at California.
Morris Back on Track
After not scoring in double figures the first five conference games, sophomore Casey Morris had three-straight double-figure scoring games. To go along with her career-high 23 points against Texas A&M, she had a team-high 13 points against Texas and a team-high 14 points at Nebraska.
Another Double-Digit Effort for Wickett
Senior Teena Wickett picked up her fourth-straight game of double-figure scoring as she finished with 15 points against the Aggies. Wickett has now scored in double-digits in 14 games this season.
Season-High Attendance
Texas Tech recorded its largest crowd of the season with 9,709 fans in attendance in the game against the Aggies.
First Home Loss

Season Low Turnovers
Texas Tech committed just seven turnovers in the loss to Texas, which was a season low for the Lady Raiders. Their previous season low was 10 against Samford and UTSA.

Second Half Struggles
In three of four Big 12 games, Texas Tech had been winning at halftime but came up short in the end. Tech was up two at the half at then No. 14/13 Oklahoma, up one at No. 1/1 Baylor and up seven at home against Texas. Ironically, in two of the three games prior to OU, Tech was down at the half - at Kansas by nine and against Missouri by 12 and came back to win both of those contests. The only Big 12 game that Tech has led at the half and won was the double-overtime victory against Kansas State.
Another Double-Figure Output for Brown
Sophomore Chynna Brown had her third and fourth-consecutive double-figure scoring games as she poured in 17 points at then No. 14/13 Oklahoma and then had 12 points at No. 1/1 Baylor.

Wickett had five during her freshman year at Pepperdine. It was also her 10th double-digit scoring game of the year.
Déjà vu
It may have seemed like déjà vu as Texas Tech had to come back from double-digit deficits to win two-straight games by almost the exact same score. Tech was down 15 at Kansas and came back to win 61-57 and then erased a 14-point deficit against Missouri to claim a 63-56 victory.
Career High for Brown
Sophomore Chynna Brown scored a career-high 22 points as she came off the bench and played 28 minutes in the win over Missouri last Wednesday. Tech's other three games were against Northwestern State (54 percent), a season-high 60.3 percent against Charleston Southern and 50.9 percent versus American.
Big 12 Player of the Week

She came off the bench against Pitt and had seven points, six rebounds, two steals and two assists in 20 minutes of play. Brown then had 11 points, six rebounds, two steals and one assist in 26 minutes versus California.
Best Game of Year for Smalls
Sophomore Monique Smalls arguably had her best overall game of the season against California. In 36 minutes of play, the floor general scored a season-high 11 points, grabbed three rebounds and added two assists and two steals.
Nobles Gets First Start
Freshman Shauntal Nobles got her first career start in the victory against California. Nobles got the start at center as junior Kierra Mallard suffered from the stomach flu and played just five minutes versus the Bears.
Career High for JB
Senior Jordan Barncastle scored a career-high 24 points in the win over Northwestern State. The junior forward shot 80 percent from the field, 100 percent from three-point range and 100 percent from the charity stripe. She also finished with seven rebounds, tied a season-high three assists, tied a career-high two blocks and added a steal.
All-Tournament Team
