Starting the Game
Shauntal Nobles (F), Kierra Mallard (C), Christine Hyde (G), Casey Morris (G) and Monique Smalls (G) started for the Lady Raiders. The Bears sent out Destiny Williams (F), Brittney Griner (C), Odyssey Sims (G), Kimetria Hayden (G) and Melissa Jones (G) for the tip-off.
At the Half

Monique Smalls and Casey Morris led the Lady Raiders with eight points each while Kierra Mallard led with seven rebounds.
Brittney Griner led the Lady Bears with seven points while Kimetria Hayden led with four rebounds.
The Lady Raiders outrebounded the Lady Bears 20-19.
Tech forced seven Baylor turnovers and committed seven.

The last time the Lady Raiders beat a No. 1 ranked team was on Feb. 22, 2004 when they defeated Texas, 62-49, in the United Spirit Arena. The last victory over a top 5 ranked opponent was on Jan. 22, 2006 against the No. 5 Lady Bears, 64-62.
Texas Tech is now 19-7 overall, marking the most wins in a season under head coach Kristy Curry.
The Lady Raiders' stellar defense held Baylor to only 45 points, the lowest amount scored by the Lady Bears this season.
Christine Hyde had a career-high 10 boards, shattering her previous high of seven.
With a crucial 3-pointer for the Lady Raiders in the second half, Monique Smalls tied a season-high 11 points.
