LUBBOCK, Texas - The future of Texas Tech football will be displayed in front of thousands of Red Raider faithful on Saturday, March 26, when the Red Raiders hold the 2011 Spring Game at Jones AT&T Stadium.
"I hope everyone across the area and the state will mark their calendars for March 26 and plan on being in Lubbock for the Spring Game," said Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville. "It will be a great weekend to bring the family out to the game and get an early look at your 2011 Red Raider football team. Our baseball and softball teams will both be in action on Saturday and our men's tennis team has a match on Sunday so it will be a perfect weekend to spend cheering on the Red Raiders."
Kickoff has been set for 1 p.m. and all stadium gates will open at 11 a.m. to allow fans the opportunity to soak up the atmosphere in this annual spring ritual. The game will feature appearances by the Goin' Band From Raiderland, The Masked Rider, Saddle Tramps, Raider Red and the Tech cheer and pom squads.
Following the game, there will be a one-hour postgame autograph session that will allow fans to meet and greet their favorite players and coaches. Fans will be limited to one item per person in order to keep lines moving swiftly and efficiently.
Fans who are unable to attend the game and live in the Lubbock area can tune in to a live television broadcast by the Texas Tech Sports Network on KYML, My Lubbock TV, 14.1/22.2 (AT&T U-Verse 14, Suddenlink 6/106, Dish Network 14 and NTS 6). A live radio broadcast will also be available on KTTU-FM Double T 104.3.
Admission will be $5 for adults (children 18 and under are free) and can be purchased in advance online at texastech.com or through the athletics ticket office at (806) 742-TECH. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate. In addition, the athletics department will be accepting non-perishable food items as part of a food drive to benefit the South Plains Food Bank.
