- Texas Tech improved to 25-1 overall and to 1-1 in the Masked Rider Invitational.
- Texas Tech now leads the all-time series against Evansville 2-1. Today's game marked the first meeting between the two teams since 2000.
- Cydney Allen's two home runs on the afternoon gave her a total of nine on the season. She is second on the team with 30 RBIs and her four RBIs today marked a season-high. She is second on the squad with 14 extra-base hits and has posted eight multiple-hit games and 11 multiple-RBI games.
- Sandy James' solo home run in the second inning marked her seventh of the season and her 25th RBI.
- Texas Tech recorded its ninth shutout of the season, dropping the team ERA down to 2.29.
