Men's Golf Finishes 12th At Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters

LUBBOCK, Texas - The 14th-ranked Texas Tech men's golf team shaved seven strokes off its second round score but was only able to move up on spot on Sunday afternoon as the Red Raiders ended the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in a tie for 12th place.
Texas Tech fired a 12-over 300 in the final round and ended tournament play with a three round total of 42-over 906 (tie with USC). Top-ranked Oklahoma State won the team title at 1-under 863 while No. 11 Texas A&M finished second at 6-over 870.
Senior Nils Floren led the Red Raiders as he finished tied for ninth with a 3-over 219. Floren posted a third round score of 3-over 75.
Senior Matt Smith was the only other Red Raider to finish in the Top 50 as he ended in a two-way tie for 34th at 8-over 224.
Texas Tech returns to the links March 20-22 at the Callaway Golf Match Play Classic in Atlanta, Ga.
