LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's tennis team travels to Oklahoma this weekend to face No. 19 Oklahoma on Fri., March 25 and Oklahoma State on Sun., March 27 and will look to extend its eight-match win streak.
The Lady Raiders tennis team started conference play this past weekend with wins over Kansas, 6-1, and Kansas State, 7-0. Tech has not dropped a match since Feb. 13 against No. 21 Arkansas and is currently 12-3, 2-0.
Some impressive streaks are being compiled by the women's team and have propelled the squad to its impressive start. Elizabeth Ullathorne and Haley Fournier have been untouchable playing the No. 3 doubles spot this season. The duo has won nine-straight matches in doubles play.
Nikki Sanders and Caroline Starck have tried to match Ullathorne and Fournier's streak with their own eight-match streak. Sanders is also taking care of business in singles play with a seven-match win streak. Her last loss came against No. 46 Alabama's Meritt Emery.
Samantha Adams and Kelsy Garland, who have played the No. 1 doubles position all season, have won four straight. The two are racking up wins in single matches with Garland and Adams both winning their last six.
The match against Oklahoma will be played at 5 p.m. on Friday in Norman, Okla., while the Oklahoma State match is scheduled for 12 p.m. in Stillwater, Okla.
