Starting the Game
Teena Wickett (F), Kierra Mallard (C), Christine Hyde (G), Casey Morris (G) and Monique Smalls (G) started for the Lady Raiders. The Sooners sent out Carlee Roethlisberger (F), Nicole Griffin (C), Aaryn Ellenberg (G), Danielle Robinson (G) and Whitney Hand (G) for the tip-off.
At the Half
Oklahoma led, 35-31.
Monique Smalls led the Lady Raiders with seven points while Kierra Mallard led with three rebounds.
Aaryn Ellenberg led the Sooners with 14 points and Whitney Hand led with six rebounds.
Oklahoma outrebounded Tech 17-13.
The Lady Raiders forced 10 turnovers and only committed seven.
Tech shot 39.3 percent from the field while Oklahoma shot 58.3 percent.
Odds and Ends
Tech won, 61-56.
Monique Smalls led the Lady Raiders with 13 points while Kierra Mallard led with six rebounds.
Aaryn Ellenberg led the Sooners with 16 points and Whitney Hand led with 12 rebounds.
Oklahoma outrebounded Tech 42-32.
The Lady Raiders forced 19 turnovers and committed 12.
Tech shot 37 percent from the field and the Sooners shot 37.7 percent.
The Lady Raiders' 21 wins is the most in the Kristy Curry era and the most since the 2004-05 season.
Tech also grabbed its eighth conference win, the most under head coach Kristy Curry and the most since going 9-7 in 2006.
With her team-leading 13 points Monique Smalls tied her career high.
Kierra Mallard has become the 28th player in Lady Raider history to score 1,000 points with her 10-point performance today. She now has 1,004 career points.
The Lady Raiders collected their third victory over a Top 25 ranked team this season with the other being Iowa State and Baylor.
The win over OU snapped an 11-game losing streak against the Sooners. Tech now leads the series 22-21.
With the Win
The Lady Raiders head to Kansas City, Mo., to begin play in the 2011 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship on Tues., March 8.
