Women's Tennis Posts Win over Denver, 4-3.

LUBBOCK, TX - The Texas Tech women's tennis team won their fifth straight match posting a 4-3 win over the University of Denver Pioneers at the McLeod Tennis Center on Sunday.
Texas Tech swept the three doubles matches. At No. 2 doubles, Caroline Starck and Nikki Sanders downed Denver's Emma Isberg and Steffi Rath, 8-2. Lady Raiders Elizabeth Ullathorne and Haley Fournier defeated Denver's No. 3 doubles tandem, Caroline Schnell and Natalie Dunn, 8-5. Samantha Adams and Kelsy Garland completed the doubles sweep with their win at the top spot over Sophia Bergner and Elena Najera, 8-6.
Senior Kelsy Garland, playing at No. 5 singles, defeated Denver's Natalie Dunn, 6-2, 6-1, for Texas Tech's 2-0 lead in the match. Freshman Samantha Adams increased the match lead to 3-0 with her 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles over Emma Isberg. Denver gained their first point of the match when Caroline Schnell beat Haley Fournier at the fourth spot, 6-3, 6-2. Lady Raider Elizabeth Ullathorne clinched the match for Texas Tech with her No. 1 singles win over Sophia Bergner, 6-3, 7-6 (4). Denver's Steffi Rath won at the fifth spot over Texas Tech's Sandra Dynka, 6-4, 7-5. At No. 2 singles, Pioneer Elena Najera and Lady Raider Caroline Starck battled through three sets with Najera winning, 2-6, 6-0, 6-4.
Texas Tech begins Big 12 play on March 18 when they host Kansas at the McLeod Tennis Center in a 3 p.m. match.
