THREE PERSONAL RECORDS SET AT MT. SAC RELAYS

WALNUT, Calif. - While a majority of the Tech track and field program was travelling to compete at the Mt. SAC Relays, a few were setting new personal bests in the decathlon and 10,000M.
A new personal best was set in the women's 10,000M by Michelle Guzman. The senior ran the race in a time of 35:27.33 to cross the line in sixth place.
Nick Green and Chuck Zavala battled each other and the field at the Mt. SAC Combined Events held on the campus of Azusa Pacific.
Green after day one had scored 3,530 points but came back strong for day two. In the second day alone he had personal bests in the pole vault (13'-9.25") and in the 1500M to slip by Zavala with a final score of 6,474 points. He was 9th on the overall results.
Zavala scored 3,597 point in the first day and on the second threw a personal best in the javelin of 139'-11" (42.65M). His two day total of 6,471 points put him 10th overall and also a personal best.
Kaci Westervelt started the competition for the Lady Raiders. Westervelt ran the 3000M steeplechase in a time of 11:28.92 to place 15th in her heat.
Tech will begin competition at the Mt. SAC Relays in the morning at 9 a.m. (PST) with the 1500M.
