LUBBOCK, Texas - Baron Batch was taken in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft and will begin his professional career as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Batch was the only Red Raider chosen in the seven round draft and due to the current NFL lockout, there will be no upcoming free agent moves.

Batch helped Texas Tech to an 8-5 season and a victory in the TicketCity Bowl. During his career as Red Raider he rushed for 2,501 career yards and totaled 3,612 all-purpose yards. Both career yards are good for eighth and ninth in school history. He scored a total of 32 touchdown throughout his career.
