Ullathorne Named Big 12 Tennis Player of the Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech's Elizabeth Ullathorne was named Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week after leading the Lady Raiders tennis team to the program's first win against then No. 23 Texas.

The sophomore beat No. 21 Aeriel Ellis in straight sets 6-3, 6-4 to win the team's third point of the match. It is Ullathorne's third Big 12 win of the year and moves her overall record to 9-9 in dual play. She is 7-3 in her last 10 matches.

It is the first Big 12 award of the season for the women's tennis team and first since 2004. Tech is currently 14-4 and 4-1 in Big 12 play.

The Lady Raiders tennis team will take on Iowa State on Fri., April 8 at 4 p.m. and will host its final match of the season against No. 38 Nebraska on Sun., April 10 at 11 a.m. both held at the McLeod Tennis Complex.
