BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIPS
Texas Tech enters the Big 12 Championships with a 33-23 record after going 12-15 in Big 12 play to earn the No. 7 seed. Texas Tech won its final conference series taking two-of-three against No. 22 Oklahoma State in Lubbock. The Red Raiders open the tournament against No. 2 seed Texas A&M (38-18, 19-8). Tech won the series opener, but lost the series against A&M this season in Lubbock. It will be the eighth meeting between Texas Tech and Texas A&M in Big 12 Championship history (Tech trails 3-4).
TEXAS TECH IN THE BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIPS
Texas Tech is making its third consecutive and 12th all-time appearance at the Big 12 Championships with a 14-22 all-time record. The Red Raiders captured the Big 12 Tournament title in 1998, the second year of the league, with a 14-7 win over Texas A&M. Tech also played in the first-ever tournament title game when it lost 17-19 against Oklahoma in 1997. Tech has gone 1-2 the last two seasons in pool play competition. Tech is looking for its first tournament opening win since 2005 (5-3 vs. Nebraska).
LIVE STREAMING/TELEVISION/TICKETS FOR BIG 12 CHAMPIONSHIP
Live action from the Championship will be video streamed free on the Big 12 Conference's official website, Big12Sports.com, for the fifth year in a row. Audio from the webcast will also be broadcast on Sirius XM Radio, a Big 12 corporate partner. Single-session tickets for the Championship go on sale Monday, May 23 at 9 a.m. Single-session ticket prices range from: $37 for club-level, $22 for field box, $17 for terrace reserved, $16 for field bleacher and $13 for general admission. All-session tickets are still available from: $202 for club-level, $117 for field box and $87 for terrace reserved.
