FIRST PITCH
Texas Tech plays its final road games of the season with a two-game midweek series at Michigan (May 10-11) and with its final road Big 12 series at Missouri (May 13-15) this weekend. Tech's series at Michigan marks its first midweek road series during the month of May since 1967. The Red Raiders are coming off finals week, where the team had six days off. That is Tech's longest period of time without playing a game this season. Tech will now finish the regular season with eight games, five on the road and three at home (Oklahoma State - May 20-22). Texas Tech is 7-9 in road games and 9-9 away from Dan Law Field.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Texas Tech and Michigan met for the first time last season with the Red Raiders defeating the Wolverines 4-2 (2/20/10) and 18-5 (4/21/10) at Dan Law Field in Lubbock. The Red Raiders are 4-0 against teams from the Big Ten this season after dropping Northwestern twice (6-1, 8-2) during the first week of the season and then taking both from Iowa (9-7, 6-4) on March 11-12. Texas Tech is 10-2 all-time against teams from the Big Ten, with games against Illinois, Ohio State, Michigan, Northwestern and Iowa.
