Lady Raider Basketball Volunteers at Fit4Fun Kid's Triathlon

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team spent its Saturday morning volunteering at Texas Tech's 2011 Fit4Fun Kid's Triathlon at the Student Recreation Center on campus.
The event was held for kids ages 7-14 years old and began with a swim at the Texas Tech Leisure Pool, then transitioned to a bike ride and ended with a run around the Texas Tech campus.
Some of the Lady Raiders cheered on the participants and then instructed them throughout the race on getting on their bikes and where to start the running portion, while other teammates handed out water during the competition and awarded medals at the end of the triathlon. Senior Jordan Barncastle then spoke to the children and their families at the conclusion of the event.
Community service is a big part of the Lady Raider basketball program and this is one of several events that the team volunteers its time to throughout the year.
