Doege Leads Red Raiders in Third Scrimmage

The third scrimmage of fall camp has come to a close at Jones AT&T Stadium.
In front of a crowd of season ticket holders, Seth Doege led the Red Raiders by tossing three touchdown passes on Saturday morning.
Meanwhile senior kicker Donnie Carona put on a show, connecting on 5-of-8 attempts, with his longest coming from 54 yards out.
The defense stood strong, picking off two passes on the afternoon and forcing an unofficial safety.
Texas Tech will return to practice on Monday morning.
UPDATE:
Perhaps fittingly, Donnie Carona ended today's scrimmage with another deep field goal connection, this time striking from 49-yards out.
Carona ended his day connecting on 5-of-8 attempts, with his longest coming from 54 yards.

Donnie Carona connected on a 49-yard field goal from the left hash mark to cap off another scoring drive for the Red Raiders .
Quarterback Scotty Young led the drive, going 1-of-5 for 32 yards.
Donnie Carona has had an impressive day, connecting of 4-of-7 field goal attempts. The senior kicker had connected on tries from 54 yards, 43 yards, 49 yards and a 27-yard attempt throughout the scrimmage.
UPDATE:
Derek Mays collected the second interception of the day for the Red Raider defense. The interception came on an arrant pass by Scotty Young.
D.J. Johnson caught an interception in the corner of the end zone on the opening drive of the scrimmage.
UPDATE:
Ben McRoy scampered around the left side and into the end zone for a 9-yard touchdown.
Quarterback Jacob Karam went 2-for-2 for 50 yards on the drive.
The touchdown marks the third rushing touchdown of the day for the Red Raiders and the first for the 5-foot-8 product of Lakeland, Fla.
UPDATE:
Scotty Young led his first scoring drive of the afternoon, capped off by a 51-yard touchdown strike to Aaron Fisher in the middle of the field.
Young went 3-3 for 63 yards on the drive. The redshirt freshman quarterback from Denton, Texas is now 7-13 for 93 yards on the day and one touchdown.
UPDATE:
The defense has stepped it up here in the scrimmage, forcing three stalled drives in a row.
The stalls come after Seth Doege marched down the field for his fourth scoring drive of the afternoon.

Seth Doege led his fourth scoring drive of the day, capped off by a 27-yard field goal from Donnie Carona.
The drive went 63 yards and saw Doege go 5-7 passing.
The drive was highlighted by a 36-yard pass to Darren Moore on the near-sideline. Moore has 6 catches for one touchdowns today.

Meanwhile the defense has forced one turnover on an early interception in the corner of the end zone by D.J. Johnson and an unofficial safety.
UPDATE:
Quarterback Seth Doege led a 99-yard drive capped off with a 40-yard touchdown pass to freshman Bradley Marquez in the corner of the end zone.
Doege went 6-of-7 for 84 yards on the drive and is now 15-17 150 yards and three touchdowns.

Freshman running back Ronnie Daniels scored his first rushing touchdown of the day on a three-yard scamper around the right side.
The touchdown is the second of the day on the ground for the Red Raiders, after Aaron Crawford went untouched for a 19-yard score earlier in the scrimmage.

Donnie Carona hit his second yard field goal of the afternoon on a 43-yard attempt from the right side.
Carona is now 2-of-4 on the day, including makes from 54 and 41 yards.

Seth Doege just tossed his second touchdown pass of the day on a toss to senior receiver Alex Torres in the middle of the end zone. Doege led an impressive drive going 4-of-4 for 21 yards.
After settling down from an early interception, Doege has now gon 9-of-10 for 66 yards on the day.

UPDATE: It didn't take long for the Texas Tech defense to make the first big play of the scrimmage. On the first drive of the game, D.J. Johnson picked off a pass from quarterback Seth Doege in the corner of the south end zone.
On the ensuing drive kicker Donnie Carona missed a 23-yard field goal.

Seth Doege rebounded quickly from his first drive of the scrimmage, which resulted in an interception. The junior quarterback swiftly led a three-play drive, ending on a 14-yard touchdown pass to Darrin Moore.
Moore made an impressive one-hand catch on the play.
UPDATE:
Donnie Carona just hit an impressive 54-yard field goal from the middle of the field. After missing on his first attempt from 23-yards, the senior from Beaumont lined up the attempt and drove it just over the middle of the goalpost.
UPDATE:
Aaron Crawford went untouched for a 19-yard touchdown around the left side for his first touchdown of the scrimmage.
