Esson Named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech sophomore Victoria Esson was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season after recording two shutouts last weekend at the Cats Classic in Tucson, Ariz.
The Red Raider goalkeeper recorded two shutouts and made 10 saves at the Cats Classic to earn defensive MVP honors. The sophomore propelled Tech to a 5-0 victory over Arizona State and kept Arizona scoreless in a 0-0 tie. Esson is third in the conference with 30 saves through eight games.
It is the second weekly award for Esson after being named on the week of August 23.
