LUBBOCK, Texas - When driving by Dan Law Field it doesn't look as though a lot has happened since the last report, which came 19 days ago on Aug. 21. But that doesn't mean the construction crew hasn't been hard at work.
A lot of ground work has been done and specifically a lot of work on the inside of Dan Law Field, which includes pealing back the entire warning track area of the FieldTurf located directly behind home plate and between both dugouts.
This is the area that the new stands will be brought down into, which will give fans five additional rows of seating to be at eye level with the action on the field. This will provide a lot of new seating options that I'm sure Tech fans will be very excited about.
So, with that being said, the Red Raiders are going to be starting practice this coming Thursday and will have several obstacles behind home plate and I'm sure in almost all of the foul ground by the first and third base sides by the dugouts. Keep checking back to the Dan Law Field Renovation Page for all updates and photo galleries on the renovation at the Texas Tech baseball stadium.
