Cornelius Douglas named the Jim Thorpe Defensive Back of the Week.

Just two days after earning the Big 12's Defensive Player of the Week honor, senior cornerback Cornelius Douglas has been named the Jim Thorpe Defensive Back of the Week.

Douglas anchored a stellar defensive effort on Saturday night in Ames as the Red Raiders held the Cylcones to just 189 yards of total offense in a 24-13 win. On the night, Douglas grabbed a career-high two interceptions, including one that led to a key Texas Tech touchdown in the fourth quarter. He is the first Red Raider to grab two interceptions in a game since DJ Johnson did so in last year's Big 12 opener at Kansas.
