TEXAS TECH OPENS 2012 SEASON HOSTING OPENING DAY FRIDAY
Texas Tech opens its 63rd year of baseball hosting the 2012 Red Raider Classic at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park. Tech begins its nine-game homestand welcoming Missouri State and Tennessee Tech. The Red Raiders will face Missouri State (Feb. 17, 19) for just the third time (first since 1997) and will play Tennessee Tech for the first time. Texas Tech plays Missouri State at 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 for Opening Day while opening the Red Raiders news stadium, Rip Griffin Park. The Red Raiders are 39-23 all-time on Opening Day, including a perfect 3-0 mark under fourth-year head coach Dan Spencer.
