Lady Raiders to honor seniors on Wednesday night

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball program will honor its seniors prior to Wednesday night's game against Oklahoma at 7 p.m.
The senior presentation will begin approximately 20 minutes prior to tip off. Fans can purchase tickets in the upper bowl for only $5 or take advantage of the Wienerschnitzel Family Four Pack - Four tickets, Four Hot Dogs, Four Cokes, Four Popcorns - only $36 but must be purchased in advance. Two Lady Raider players, Jordan Barncastle and Kierra Mallard, will play their final regular season home game at United Spirit Arena on Wednesday.
Barncastle, a four-year letterwinner from Martin's Mill, Texas, is majoring in biology with a minor in Spanish and will graduate in May with a Bachelors Degree in Biology. She plans on attending medical school to pursue a doctorate in sports medicine. She enjoys hanging out with friends, shopping, Jordan played in 120 games with 48 starts, averaging 4.9 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. Known for her outstanding 3-point shot, Jordan leaves Texas Tech as one of the all-time top 3-point shooters with 88, including 44 this season. Jordan is a two-time First Team member of the All-Academic Big 12 Team and the 2012 representative for all Texas Tech student-athletes on the Chick-Fil-A Big 12 Circle of Champions.
Mallard, a four-year letterwinner from Dallas, Texas, is majoring in Human Development & Family Studies and will graduate with a Bachelors Degree in HDFS this May. She enjoys working with children, playing with her brother, drawing, playing board games and cards, riding bikes, riding the rip stick and spending time with her little brother and family.
Mallard played in 118 games with 96 starts, averaging 11.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game and had 22 double-doubles. She was a member of the All-Big 12 Freshman Team in 2008 and 2010 World Classic Invitational MVP. She led the team in points, rebounds field goals made and field goal attempts for the last two seasons. Her 1,320 points places her as one of the top 15 scorers all-time at Texas Tech.
Women's basketball managers Kinsey McCown and Stephanie Lowery will also be honored for their services over the last few years.
McCown is an Exercise and Sports Science major with a minor in Nutritional Science and will be graduating in May, Magna Cum Laude with an overall GPA of 3.87. She will be attending graduate school at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the Master of Athletic Training Program. McCown hopes to one day work as a certified athletic trainer for a major college university. She enjoys running long distance races and cycling, including half marathons, duathlons, and triathlons.
Lowery is an Exercise Sports Science major with a minor in general business and will be graduating with a degree in Exercise Sports Science in August. She plans on attending graduate school to get her Masters in Sports Management. She enjoys playing basketball and sand volleyball, as well as building scrapbooks and sewing.
