LUBBOCK, Texas - The No. 42 Texas Tech Lady Raiders will host No. 23 Ole Miss on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Lubbock Country Club.
This is the highest rated non-conference opponent the Lady Raiders have faced at the McLeod Center in the Todd Petty era.
"We have the opportunity to play a quality opponent like Ole Miss in Lubbock," said Petty, who is in his fourth season as head coach of the Lady Raiders. "Now we need to play like I know that we are capable of on the court."
The Lady Raiders (2-1) moved up three spots in this week's ITA National Rankings to No. 42 after splitting a pair of matched in Tempe. Texas Tech lost to No. 20 Arizona State and toppled No. 48 Sacramento State.
Ole Miss (4-0) moved up to No. 23 in this week's ITA National Rankings after defeating then No. 29 Texas A&M and No. 18 Florida State in Tallahassee last weekend to advance to the ITA National Team Indoor Final 16.
The Rebels feature two nationally-ranked singles players - Kristi Boxx (No. 12) and Caroline Rohde-Moe (No. 54). In doubles, Boxx and Abby Guthrie are currently the No. 4 tandem in the nation.
Texas Tech also features the nation's 45th-ranked doubles team of Samantha Adams and Kenna Kilgo.
