LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball program hosted over 45 local and area coaches Wednesday evening in head coach Don Flora's annual coaches clinic at the United Spirit Arena.
"Having the local and area coaches spend some quality time in our gym and seeing the team practice up close is awesome," Flora said. "The questions and insights that come from this type of event are outstanding. We'd like to thank all those who attended and hope to see them again next year."
During the clinic, coaches got to get an inside glimpse at a Red Raider practice while also taking part in an extensive question-and-answer session with the team and coaching staff immediately following practice.
The practice was one of the first for Tech this spring which allowed coaches to see many of the new systems Flora and his staff are implementing in preparation for the 2012 season.
"Having a question and answer time for coaches in attendance was really important," Flora said. "For them to get to know the players and hear their passion for the teaching and learning process is so cool to see and hear."
As is his policy, Flora routinely opens Tech practices to coaches throughout the year while also hosting a coaches clinic each spring. For coaches interested in attending a Tech practice, please contact the volleyball office at 806-742-7545 for a weekly schedule.
