LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech soccer program officially unveiled its 2012 regular-season schedule Friday afternoon.
The Red Raiders will boast a total of nine home games at the John Walker Soccer Complex in 2012, highlighted by an early season non-conference match up with reigning Mountain West champion New Mexico, along with Big 12 battles against Oklahoma, Baylor and defending conference champion Oklahoma State.
In all, the schedule features nine teams that reached the NCAA Tournament in 2011.
"We feel like we have put together a great schedule," head coach Tom Stone said. "We love the early test against New Mexico and the fact that we have nine NCAA Tournament teams is exceptional. This is a schedule that will reward us if we play the way I think we can."

The Red Raiders open the 2012 season on Aug. 17 with a home match against Idaho at the John Walker Soccer Complex. The match will be the first of a two-game homestand that concludes Aug. 19 with a highly-anticipated showdown with New Mexico - a team that won both the Mountain West regular season and tournament championships on its way to the NCAA Tournament in 2011.
The showdown with New Mexico will be just the first of several tough non-conference tests. The Red Raiders will hit the road for a five-game stretch from Sept. 2 - Sept. 21. The road trip will feature games against SEC members Ole Miss and Auburn along with matches against Long Beach State and Cal State Fullerton . The Red Raiders will conclude the road trip by facing West Virginia to open Big 12 play.
Auburn, Long Beach State and West Virginia, who won the Big East regular season title with a 10-1 record, all advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2011.
Tech will return home after opening conference play at West Virginia with a four-game homestand against New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Iowa State and Baylor as the Red Riders head into the bulk of Big 12 play.
A final non-conference game awaits Tech as they square off against Francis Marion at the John Walker Soccer Complex on Oct. 14.
A home showdown against defending Big 12 Champion Oklahoma State will bring the regular season to a close on Oct. 26.
