LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech sophomore defender Jaelene Hinkle was tabbed Friday as one of the top 10 defenders in the country by Top Drawer Soccer.
The publication released the top returning defenders in collegiate soccer and Hinkle, a 2012 All-Big 12 First Team selection, was featured for her trademark speed and quickness as one of the most aggressive defenders in the country.
The Denver, Colo. native returns to the Texas Tech backline after tallying a team leading five assists as the Red Raiders advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament last fall.
Hinkle is a two-time NSCAA All-Region selection and was selected to the All-Big 12 Second Team in 2011 as a freshman.
Texas Tech posted an unblemished 4-0 mark during the 2013 spring season featuring wins over Rice and Baylor.
