LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech soccer team wrapped up its second scrimmage of the 2013 spring season Saturday afternoon at the John Walker Soccer Complex. The Red Raiders held a 1 hour and 15 minute intrasquad one day after opening the spring season with a 3-0 shutout of West Texas A&M.
On the warm spring afternoon the Black and White teams ended in a 1-1 draw with junior Hayley Haagsma and sophomore Jaelene Hinkle finding in the back of the net.
"Jaelene and Haley scored two fantastic goals," head coach Tom Stone said. "It was a pretty spirited game and we certainly maximized our ability to get something out of it."
Both goals came in the opening 35-minute half as Hinkle gave the white team a 1-0 lead before Haagsma quickly responded to knot the game up at 1-1 less than a minute later.
The Red Raiders will play the remaining three matches of their spring schedule away from home with a pair of matches in Houston from April 13-14 before a showdown with Baylor April 20 in Frisco.
