Danny Amendola (WR) New England Patriots
Week 2 Matchup: Jets-10 Patriots-15
Amendola suffered an injury in the first week of the season and did not play this week. He had 10 receptions for 104 yards in last week's victory over the Buffalo Bills. Amendola played four seasons at Tech (2004-2007) and signed as an undrafted free agent in 2008 with the Dallas Cowboys.
Bront Bird (LB) San Diego Chargers
Week 2 Matchup: Chargers-33 Eagles-30
Bird saw limited action in Sunday's matchup against the Eagles, and recorded one solo tackle on the day. He also started in last week's Monday night game against the Houston Texans where he recorded 14 tackles, the most on the team that night. He currently has 15 total tackles, which ties him for the team lead. Bird played four seasons at Tech (2007-2010) and signed as an undrafted free agent in 2011 with the San Diego Chargers.
Michael Crabtree (WR) San Francisco 49ers
Week 2 Matchup: 49ers-3 Seahawks-29
Crabtree's absence was felt on Sunday night as the 49ers were unable to get much going on offense as they fell on the road to the Seattle Seahawks. He remains on the injured reserve list moving into week three with an Achilles injury. Coming off of an NFC championship and Super Bowl appearance, Crabtree enters his fifth season in the NFL, and his fifth with the San Francisco 49ers. During the offseason he suffered a torn Achilles tendon, and underwent surgery to repair the injury. He is expected to return early in the 2013 season. Crabtree Played two seasons at Tech (2007-2008) and was selected as the 10th overall pick 2009 NFL draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
Cody Davis (S) St. Louis Rams
Week 2 Matchup: Rams-24 Falcons-31
Davis remains on the Rams practice squad. During the preseason, Davis led the Rams with 14 tackles (11 solo). He was an Academic All-American and All-Big 12 selection at Tech during his senior season in 2012. He was a four-year letterman with the Red Raiders (2009-2012). Davis signed as an undrafted free-agent with the Rams in 2013.
Seth Doege (QB) Atlanta Falcons Week 2 Matchup: Rams-24 Falcons-31
Doege remains on the Falcons practice squad. Doege did not see game action during the preseason, yet participated during training camp. Doege finished his collegiate career at Tech as the program's third leading passer all-time, trailing only Graham Harrell and Kliff Kingsbury. Doege played four seasons with the Red Raiders (2009-2012).
Keyunta Dawson (DE) Tennessee Titans
Week 2 Matchup: Titans-24 Texans-30
Dawson has yet to see action in the 2013 season, but remains on the Titans active roster. Dawson played four seasons at Tech (2003-2006) and was selected in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts.
Dylan Gandy (OL) Detroit Lions
Week 2 Matchup: Lions-21 Cardinals-25
Gandy has seen action in both games this season, and is currently listed as the second string right guard. During Sunday's game, the Detroit offensive line allowed only one sack. Gandy played four seasons at Tech (2001-2004) and was selected in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. The Lions travel to Arizona for week two.
Darcel McBath (S) San Francisco 49ers
Week 2 Matchup: 49ers-3 Seahawks-29
McBath remains on the disabled list and has not played this season. Last season McBath was a member of the 49ers along with fellow Red Raider Michael Crabtree while winning the NFC championship and making a Super Bowl appearance. McBath played in all 16 games last season making two tackles and recovering a fumble. McBath played four seasons at Tech (2005-2008) and was selected in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos.
Manny Ramirez (OL) Denver Broncos
Week 2 Matchup: Broncos-49 Giants-21
Ramirez has now been the starting center in both of the Denver Broncos games this year. In Sunday's game against the Giants the offensive line did not allow a sack on quarterback Peyton Manning as he passed for 307 yards. Ramirez played four seasons at Tech (2003-2006) and was selected in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.
Louis Vasquez (OL) Denver Broncos
Week 2 Matchup: Broncos-49 Giants-21
For the second week in a row Louis Vasquez has started at right guard, part of the third most prolific offense in the NFL averaging 463 yards per game. Behind the offensive line, the offense rushed for 109 yards, and one touchdown. Vasquez played four seasons at Tech (2005-2008) and was selected in the third round of the 2009 NFL Draft by the San Diego Chargers.
LaAdrian Waddle (OL) Detroit Lions
Week 2 Matchup: Lions-21 Cardinals-25
LaAdrian Waddle is listed as the Detroit Lions second string left tackle following the injury of right tackle Jason Fox. The offensive line helped the Lions offense to 322 yards on the day, and two touchdowns. Waddle played four seasons at Tech (2009-2012) and signed an undrafted free-agent contract in 2013 with the Detroit Lions.
Wes Welker (WR) Denver Broncos
Week 2 Matchup: Broncos-49 Giants-21
Welker caught his 41st touchdown on Sunday, tying him with Wayne Chrebet for 12th all-time amongst undrafted players in NFL history. Along with his touchdown, he caught three passes for 39 yards averaging 13 yards per reception helping the Broncos to 2-0. Welker played four seasons at Tech (2000-2003) and signed as an undrafted free agent in 2004 with the San Diego Chargers.
