Men's Golf Signs Three During National Signing Period

Signing NLI's to join the 16th ranked Texas Tech Men's Golf team were Johnny Jones (Byron Nelson High School/Flower Mound, Texas), Hayden Springer (Byron Nelson High School, Trophy Club, Texas) and Jordan Sanders (Cedar Park High School, Cedar Park, Texas.

With three seniors set to depart from this year's squad in early June, Texas Tech Head Coach Greg Sands made a move toward the future with the signing of three student-athletes that will join the program in the fall of 2015.
Signing NLI's to join the 16th ranked Texas Tech Men's Golf team were Johnny Jones (Byron Nelson High School/Flower Mound, Texas), Hayden Springer (Byron Nelson High School, Trophy Club, Texas) and Jordan Sanders (Cedar Park High School, Cedar Park, Texas.
"We are really excited about this year's signing class," said head coach Greg Sands. "All three are very talented and will play a major role in the future of this program. We can't wait to get them on campus next fall."

Johnny Jones, Byron Nelson High School, Flower Mound, Texas
Holds two Texas Junior Golf Tour championships as he won events at both Horseshoe Bay Resort and Barton Creek Resort ... finished in the top five at the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Hunter Mahan Championship at TPC Craig Ranch ... participated in the 2013 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship ... 2014 Texas Amateur Championship participant.

Jordan Sanders, Cedar Park High School, Cedar Park, Texas
Four-year letterman at Cedar Park High School in Cedar Park, Texas ... two-time All-State selection in 2012-13 and 2013-14 ... helped lead his team to a second place finish at the UIL 4A State Championship in 2013 where he finished tied for seventh individually ... in 2014 his Cedar Park squad finished third overall while he tied for ninth in the individual standings ... in 2012 he won the Legends Junior Tour Bluebonnet Championship while also setting a tournament scoring record with rounds of 66 and 69 ... in 2014 he won the Texas Golf Association South Amateur Championship at 8-under (69, 69, 70) ... tied for eighth in the Austin Men's City Championship.

After winning the South Amateur Championship this last summer, he has proven that he can play golf with the top collegiate players and amateurs in the country. Hayden Springer, Byron Nelson High School, Trophy Club, Texas
Four-year letterwinner at Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club, Texas ... tied for third place at the 2014 UIL 4A State Championship ... finished tied for eighth at the 2014 AJGA Under Armour/Hunter Mahan Championship at Stonebriar Country Club ... qualified for the 2014 HP Byron Nelson Monday qualifier at the Lakes at Castle Hills Golf Club ... won the Lord Byron Award, which is given to a Byron Nelson High School player for great character and integrity ... compiled eight top three finishes in TJGT (Texas Junior Golf Tour) tournaments, four of which were first place finishes ... qualified and competed in the 2014 Texas Amateur at Brook Hollow Country Club.
