Tech Student Section Ranked Among Best in College Football

Texas Tech's student section has been ranked 10th in the nation by USA Today

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech football student section has been ranked No. 10 in the country in a recent poll by USA Today. Tech had the only student section recognized in the Big 12 Conference.

College Football Fan Index - a poll conducted by USA Today - is a cumulative data-based ranking of America's most engaged fan bases in 2014.

Just last season ESPN's Jake Trotter ranked the Red Raider students the best student section of the Big 12.

Texas Tech is averaging 58,918 fans per home game this season - the school record for average home attendance was set last year with 57,932 fans/game.

Last year the Red Raiders set a school record with 16,092 fans attending Tech's Big 12 opener against No. 24 TCU - a 20-10 victory by Texas Tech.
