NO. 25 TECH FACES NEW MEXICO IN MIDLAND TUESDAY
No. 25 Texas Tech (22-9, 4-5 Big 12) will start the month of April with four games away from home - starting Tuesday, Apr. 1 with a neutral-site contest against New Mexico (19-9-1, 8-4 MWC) in Midland, Texas, at Security Bank Ballpark - home of the Midland Rockhounds (Oakland, Double-A) with a 6 p.m. first pitch. After back-to-back weeks of having two midweek games on the slate, Tech will play just one midweek, non-conference game this week before traveling to No. 20 Oklahoma State this weekend for its third Big 12 road series. Tech and New Mexico face off for the second time this season after Tech took the initial meeting, 9-3, in Lubbock earlier this season (3/4). The Red Raiders received their seventh straight national ranking (25th USA Today Coaches'/26th NCBWA) while having been ranked every week of the regular season this year. New Mexico has won four of its last five and 10 of its last 12 games overall while starting Mountain West Conference play with an 8-4 record. Tuesday marks the first-ever meeting between Tech and New Mexico on a neutral field.
