NO. 24 TECH CONTINUES HOMESTAND TUESDAY VERSES DBU
No. 24 Texas Tech (28-11, 8-7 Big 12) continues its eight-game homestand with its ninth midweek home game of the season hosting Dallas Baptist (25-10, 5-1) Tuesday, Apr. 14 for a 2 p.m. first pitch at Rip Griffin Park. The Red Raiders have won four straight, including a 19-2 win over Abilene Christian last Tuesday and sweeping a Big 12 series over defending Big 12 champion Kansas State last weekend. Tech's series sweep marked its first in Big 12 play since 2011 (vs. Kansas) while the Red Raiders swept a conference series over the Wildcats for the first time in a decade (2004, Lubbock). On Monday, Tech received a national ranking for the ninth consecutive week with a No. 24 ranking in the USA Today Coaches' poll and receiving a No. 25 ranking from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association. The Red Raiders are 9-1 in midweek games this season. Dallas Baptist took 2-of-3 games from Baylor in Dallas last weekend while the Patriots are 25-10 overall and bring in an impressive 12-6 road record on the campaign.
