Lady Raiders Jump To No. 26 In ITA Rankings

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech Lady Raiders have jumped from No. 30 to No. 26 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Top 75 rankings released on Thursday.
The Lady Raiders (17-8) vaulted from No. 30 to No. 26 after upsetting No. 18 Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championships last week.
Freshman Lynn Kiro, who is 28-6 on the season and riding a 15-match winning streak, entered the rankings at No. 113 in the ITA Singles Top 125. Kiro is one win away from setting the modern era record for wins in a season.
Texas Tech is gearing up for the 2014 NCAA Women's Tennis Championships. The Lady Raiders will face No. 36 Ole Miss in the first round on Friday, May 9 at noon CT at the Los Angeles Tennis Center. The winner will face the winner of No. 3 UCLA and Sacramento State on Saturday, May 10 at 5 p.m. CT.
