NO. 23 TEXAS TECH PLAYS FINAL MIDWEEK GAME AT DBU
Texas Tech (36-16, 11-10 Big 12) will play its final midweek game, final road game and conclude a five-game road trip at Dallas Baptist on Tuesday, May 6 at 2 p.m. at Horner Ballpark. It will mark the second time Tech and DBU have faced off this season with Tech winning 5-4 on a walk-off base hit in the bottom of the ninth inning to defeat the Patriots 5-4 on Apr. 15 in Lubbock. Tech enters on its first three-game losing streak of the season after suffering a series sweep at Kansas last weekend. The Red Raiders are 6-9 on the road and 8-12 away from home (including neutral site games) this season while winning its last midweek road game last Tuesday at Oral Roberts in 12 innings (4-1). Following its matchup with DBU, Tech will have eight days (May 7-14) away from competition as the Red Raiders prepare for and take spring semester final exams. Dallas Baptist (31-16) defeated Oklahoma (9-1) on the road last midweek and won a series over Missouri State on its home field last weekend taking 2-of-3 games over the Bears. DBU has won three of its last four and six of its last nine overall. This season marks the seventh straight year that Texas Tech and Dallas Baptist have played a home-and-home series (2008-14).
