Texas Tech Enters CWS Ranked Seventh Nationally

The Red Raiders have been nationally ranked 17 consecutive weeks during the 2014 season

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech (45-19) will enter the NCAA College World Series with a No. 7 national ranking, according to Collegiate Baseball.
It marks Tech's highest national ranking since 1997 when the Red Raiders closed the season at No. 6 in the USA Today Coaches' poll.
The Red Raiders advanced to the College World Series after sweeping College of Charleston at the NCAA Lubbock Super Regional last weekend.
The Red Raiders have been nationally ranked for 17 consecutive weeks - spanning the entire 2014 season. Tech receives its ninth ranking this season from Collegiate Baseball, including six times during the last seven weeks.
Overall, with each ranking during the season, Texas Tech has received 40 national rankings from Baseball America (2), National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (16), Collegiate Baseball (9), USA Today Coaches' (11) and Perfect Game (2).
Texas Tech will open its first-ever College World Series against Big 12 foe No. 2 TCU at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska, on Sunday, June 15 at 2 p.m. CT on ESPN2.
