LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech junior Le'Raven Clark was one of 64 offensive and defensive linemen named to the Outland Trophy Watch List on Thursday, the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) announced.
The 69th Outland Trophy, which is named after former Penn All-American lineman John Outland, will be presented on Dec. 11 at The Home Depot College Football Awards that will air on ESPN from Lake Buena Vista, Florida.
The FWAA will trim its watch list from 64 players to six or seven semifinalists on Nov. 20 before naming three finalists on Nov. 24. This is the second-straight season where Clark has been named to the watch list.
The Rockdale, Texas native bolstered the Red Raider offensive line a year ago, starting in all 13 games en route to earning All-Big 12 first team honors by the Associated Press and Athlon Sports. Clark enters his junior season having started in 26-consecutive games dating back to 2012 where he was a first team Freshman All-American by the FWAA.
Clark was also named to the ESPN Big 12 All-Bowl Team last season as well after shutting down an Arizona State pass rush in Tech's 37-23 victory over the 14th-ranked Sun Devils at the National University Holiday Bowl.
Clark is the fourth Red Raiders to be named to a preseason watch list this week, joining Kenny Williams (Paul Hornung Award), Davis Webb (Mawell Award) and Ryan Bustin (Lou Groza Award).
