Red Raiders in the NFL: Week 4 Recap

Former Red Raider All-American and two-time Biletnikoff Award winner Michael Crabtree has been the San Francisco 49ers' most-popular target this year as he has 24 receptions for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns through four games.

Week 4 Matchup: Lions 24, Jets 17
Amaro was the Jets' second-leading receiver Sunday in a 24-17 home loss to the Detroit Lions. Amaro caught all five of his targets, finishing with 58 yards through the air, including a 21-yard reception that set up a Jets touchdown in the fourth quarter. The performance marked the second-straight week where Amaro has reached 50 receiving yards as he now has 11 receptions on the season for 125 yards. His 11 catches currently rank third on the team while his 125 receiving yards are fourth overall. Amaro played three seasons at Tech (2011-13) before being drafted in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Danny Amendola (WR) - New England Patriots
Week 4 Matchup: Cheifs 41, Patriots 14
Amendola saw action in Monday night but failed to receive a pass in his direction as the Kansas City Chiefs handed the Patriots a 41-14 setback at Arrowhead Stadium. Through the first four weeks of the season, Amendola has caught three passes for 16 yards. Amendola played four seasons at Tech (2004-07) before signing as an undrafted free agent in 2008 with the Dallas Cowboys. He signed with the Patriots prior to the 2013 season after spending the previous four years with the St. Louis Rams.
Michael Crabtree (WR) - San Francisco 49ers
Week 4 Matchup: 49ers 26, Eagles 21
Crabtree caught five passes for 43 yards Sunday as the 49ers handed the Philadelphia Eagles their first loss of the season with a 26-21 victory at Levi's Stadium. Crabtree, who left the Eagles game early in the first quarter with an injury before eventually returning, has caught 24 passes this year for 230 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He has been Colin Kaepernick's most popular target this year as he leads the 49ers in receptions and trails fellow receiver Anquan Boldin by just one yard for the team high in receiving yards. The two-time Biletnikoff Award winner played two seasons at Tech (2007-08) before being selected with the 10th overall pick by San Francisco in the 2009 NFL Draft.
Cody Davis (DB) - St. Louis Rams
Week 4 Matchup: Open
The St. Louis Rams were off this past week heading into their week 5 matchup at Philadelphia. Davis recovered his first career fumble in the Rams' previous outing, a 34-31 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sept. 21. Davis pounced on a DeMarco Murray fumble in St. Louis territory midway through the first quarter, setting up an eventual Rams touchdown. Davis has seen action in all three games this season mainly on special teams and passing situations. Davis was a four-year letterman with the Red Raiders (2009-12) before signing an undrafted free agent agreement with the Rams in 2013.
Manny Ramirez (OL) - Denver Broncos
Week 4 Matchup: Open
Ramirez and the rest of the Denver Broncos were off this past weekend in preparation for their week 5 battle with the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday afternoon. The Broncos are currently 2-1 on the season following early wins over Indianapolis and Kansas City. Their only loss came in week 3 when Seattle handed the Broncos a 26-20 overtime loss in a rematch of last year's Super Bowl. Ramirez played four seasons at Tech (2003-06) before being selected in the fourth round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions.
Louis Vasquez (OL) - Denver Broncos

Vasquez and the rest of the Denver Broncos were off this past weekend in preparation for their week 5 battle with the Arizona Cardinals this Sunday afternoon. The Broncos are currently 2-1 on the season following early wins over Indianapolis and Kansas City. LaAdrian Waddle (OL) - Detroit Lions
Week 4 Matchup: Lions 24, Jets 17
Waddle was inactive for the third-straight week Sunday after suffering a calf injury in Detroit's season opener against the New York Giants. Without Waddle, the Lions improved to 3-1 on the season following a 24-17 victory over the New York Jets. Waddle will look to possibly return this Sunday when the Lions host the Buffalo Bills on Sunday afternoon. Waddle played four seasons at Tech (2009-12) before being signed by the Lions as an undrafted free agent.
Wes Welker (WR) - Denver Broncos
Week 4 Matchup: Open
Fresh off making his 2014 debut in week 3, Welker and the rest of the Denver Broncos were off this past weekend. The Broncos will resume their schedule this next Sunday, hosting the Arizona Cardinals at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Welker caught six passes for 60 yards in his only appearance this season, a 26-20 overtime loss at Seattle on Sept. 21. Welker was Denver's second-leading receiver in the game as Peyton Manning targeted him nine times, most of which that came in the second half. Welker is in his second season with the Broncos after spending the previous six years with the New England Patriots. The former Red Raider has caught 847 passes so far in his NFL career while totaling an impressive 9,418 yards and 48 touchdowns. Welker, who was on the Red Raider sideline last Thursday at Oklahoma State, spent four seasons at Tech (2000-03) before being signed as an undrafted free agent in 2004 by the San Diego Chargers.
