Texas Tech Hosts Kansas State on Saturday

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team will look to make it two-in-a-row on Saturday when the Lady Raiders host Kansas State at 3 p.m. at United Supermarkets Arena.
The game will be broadcast on Texas Tech TV on FOX Sports Southwest. Robert Giovannetti and Andy Penney will have the call with Courtney Davis reporting courtside.
Tech (13-7, 3-5 Big 12) completed its first season sweep of a Big 12 Conference opponent this season with a 73-57 win over West Virginia on Wednesday. It was also the first season sweep for head coach Candi Whitaker.
Senior guard Amber Battle scored a career-high 33 points on 11 of 15 shooting Wednesday, including a perfect 6-for-6 behind the arc. It was the most points in a game by a Lady Raider since Patrice Edwards scored 33 against Baylor in 2007.
K-State (12-7, 2-6) ended a four-game losing streak on Wednesday with a 52-51 overtime win over Oklahoma State in Manhattan. Much like Tech, the Wildcats have relied heavily on its defense to help win games this season. Kansas State has 228 steals through 19 games (12 per game), which leads the Big 12 and ranks fifth nationally.
Saturday's matchup will feature two of the conference's top five defensive scoring teams. K-State leads the Big 12, allowing 53.7 points per game while Tech is fifth in the conference, allowing 58 points per game.

Texas Tech and Kansas State are meeting for the 27th time overall and 26th as Big 12 Conference opponents. The two teams split their meetings in 2012 and 2013 with the home teams taking each game, before K-State swept the series last season for the first time since the teams moved to a two-game format. The series has been a close one with the last nine meetings decided by nine points or less - including two games going into overtime.

OFF THE GLASS
Texas Tech outrebounded West Virginia for the second time this season, 40-34 on Wednesday. It was the fourth time in the last five games and seventh overall this season that the Lady Raiders totaled 40 rebounds or more in a game.
ON THE ASSIST
Texas Tech senior Kelsi Baker led the Lady Raiders with a career-high seven assists on Wednesday night. Tech totaled a season-high 19 assists and had just 17 turnovers. It was the most assists in a game by Tech since dishing out 19 against Iowa State on Jan. 25, 2014. The Lady Raiders came into Wednesday night's game averaging just 10.3 assists per game this season.
STEALING POINTS
Texas Tech had six steals on Wednesday night against West Virginia led by three from junior Rayven Brooks. The Lady Raiders scored 28 points off 19 turnovers by the Mountaineers - the most points off turnovers this season for Tech.
