MAHOMES PUTS TOGETHER ANOTHER STRONG PERFORMANCE IN VICTORY OVER CYCLONES
? Patrick Mahomes II recorded his fourth career 400-yard performance and his second in as many weeks after completing 33-of-46 passes for 428 yards and five touchdowns. His five touchdowns marked a season high and were the second-most of his career.
? Mahomes turned in a #SCTop10 worthy performance late in the second quarter as he alluded an Iowa State defender and fired a strike to find Jakeem Grant behind the defense for a 37-yard touchdown. Four of Mahomes' five touchdowns went for at least 30 yards.
? Mahomes threw for 371 yards in the first half alone, marking the first time a Texas Tech quarterback hit 350 yards in the air in the opening half alone since Baker Mayfield totaled 367 against Stephen F. Austin in 2013.
GRANT CARRIES LOAD FOR RED RAIDER RECEIVERS IN VICTORY
? Jakeem Grant snapped his career high for receiving yards as the senior finished with nine yards for 166 yards and a pair of touchdowns. It was the sixth 100-yard receiving performance of Grant's career and the third time where he has caught two or more touchdowns. ? Grant gave Texas Tech a 17-7 lead with 6:48 remaining in the first quarter off a 75-yard touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes II. It was the longest reception of Grant's career and the longest for a Red Raider since Devin Lauderdale went 82 yards off a Mahomes pass against Iowa State a year ago. ? Grant was on the receiving end of a #SCTop10 worthy performance late in the first half as he snuck behind the defense for a 37-yard touchdown catch.
NOTING THE RED RAIDERS
? Tevin Madison got the Texas Tech defense off to a good start as he intercepted Iowa State quarterback Sam Richardson on the Cyclones' first play of the game. It was the second interception for Madison this season and the third of his career
. ? Reginald Davis found the endzone for the fourth time this season and the 12th time in his career with 12:02 remaining in the second quarter as he caught a 33-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes II. ? DeAndre Washington took a screen pass from Mahomes and scampered 49 yards to the endzone to give Texas Tech a 31-14 lead with 8:21 remaining in the second quarter. It matched the longest reception of his career which was set against Baylor in 2014.
? Gary Moore recorded his first career sack to force an Iowa State punt with 5:12 remaining in the second quarter. He later added another sack in the fourth quarter, marking the first multiple sack performance for a Red Raider this year. It was the first time a Red Raider had two or more sacks in a game since Pete Robertson totaled two sacks in 2014 finale against Baylor.
? Justin Stockton capped the second 100-yard rushing performance of his career with a 54-yard touchdown run with 3:37 remaining in the third quarter. It was the longest rush from scrimmage for Stockton this season and his third rushing touchdown.
? J.J. Gaines intercepted a pair of passes in the victory, marking the first time a Red Raider had done so since Cornelius Douglas had two picks against Iowa State in 2012. Gaines' four interceptions mark the most for a Red Raider in a season since Jarvis Phillips also had four in 2010.

? Keke Coutee matched his career high three receptions. He finished with 27 receiving yards.
? Jonathan Giles caught a pair of touchdown passes in the fourth quarter alone, giving him three in the past two games. He set career highs for receptions (5) and receiving yards (59) in the victory.
? Nic Shimonic made his first career completion with 5:58 remaining in the game, finding Tony Brown for 18 yards. Payne Sullins also made his first career appearance at quarterback as well.
? Demarcus Felton recorded his first career touchdown with 3:56 remaining in the game as he went 57 yards into the endzone.

? Texas Tech amassed a school-record 776 yards of total offense (515 passing, 261 rushing). The previous mark was 775 total yards also against Iowa State on Oct. 11, 2003.
? Texas Tech's 66 points tied for 9th place in program history for a single game. The Red Raiders also secured a 69-20 victory over UTEP earlier this season.
? Texas Tech's 66 points tied for the second-highest total during a conference game in program history. The Red Raiders also scored 66 points against Kansas State six years ago to the day on Oct. 10, 2009 and racked up 70 points versus Nebraska on Oct. 9, 2004.
? Texas Tech's 35-point win marked its largest margin of victory over a Big 12 opponent since defeating Kansas by a 38-point margin, 54-16, on Oct. 5, 2013.
