LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech women's basketball team hits the road for the third time in two weeks as it heads North to take on Kansas State at 1 p.m., Sunday at Bramlage Coliseum.
The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports Southwest with Ron Thulin and Brenda VanLengen on the call.
This is the second meeting this season between the two schools. Kansas State won the first meeting in Lubbock, 41-38, on Jan. 31. The Wildcats lead the series overall, 15-12, and have won the last four meetings dating back to 2013. Tech is 4-6 in Manhattan and is looking for its first win in the "Octagon of Doom" since March 3, 2012.
Tech (14-10, 4-8 Big 12) dominated its game on Wednesday against Iowa State as four Lady Raiders scored in double figures for the first time during league play this season. Ivonne CookTaylor led Tech with 19 points against Iowa State. It was her second time in three games to score in double figures and her third consecutive start. CookTaylor is averaging 16 points per game in that same span. She is averaging 12.3 points per game in eight career starts.
Amber Battle has 37 points in her last two outings, shooting 50 percent from the floor (15 of 30) and 66 percent behind the arc (4 of 6). Battle now has 941 career points and looks to become the 31st Lady Raider to score 1,000 points. She would be the first since Casey Morris (1,056) and Chynna Brown (1,096) did so in 2013.
Kansas State (15-8, 5-7) is looking to win its 14th home game for the first time since the 2005-06 season after beating TCU on Wednesday. The Wildcats scored a season-high 93 points on a season-high field goal percentage of .635 in the win.
The .635 field goal percentage included a season-high 33 made field goals and season-highs of 23 made free throws on 37 free throw attempts -- the most since K-State attempted 41 free throws against Colorado on Jan. 13, 1990.
