Restrepo, Sordet Pace Men's Golf To Tourney Lead

Seniors Clement Sordet and Esteban Restrepo fired a 3-under, 69 in today's first round of the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate and that has placed No. 15 Texas Tech atop the team leaderboard at 7-under 281.
The Red Raiders will take a four-stroke lead over second-ranked Oregon into Saturday's second round. Texas Tech is expected to tee off at approximately 10:40 am CT.
Texas Tech is in search of its first tournament win of the season and will have to hold off a strong Oregon team as well as No. 35 TCU. Oregon closed strong by putting up 11 birdies down the stretch to finish 3-under, 285.
Senior Esteban Restrepo moved into a tie for second place with Sordet after carding four birdies on the back nine. Restrepo, who was playing at the No. 5 position today for Texas Tech, birdied holes 16 and 18 to finish the day at 3-under, 69.
