No. 18 Texas Tech Faces Texas In Austin

AUSTIN, Texas - The last time Texas Tech traveled to Austin to face Texas, the Lady Raiders walked away with a 4-3 win.
That win in 2013 catapulted the Lady Raiders to its second consecutive Big 12 Conference title.
On Sunday, No. 18 Texas Tech (12-3) will take on No. 36 Texas (4-8) at 1 p.m. at the Caswell Tennis Center.
A win would improve the Lady Raiders to 13-3 overall and 3-0 in the Big 12 Conference. It would also keep Texas Tech on pace for the league lead, as No. 21 TCU (10-5, 3-0) travels to No. 6 Baylor (15-4, 2-0) on Sunday.
The Lady Raiders have been paced by a strong lineup from top to bottom. Leading the way is senior Kenna Kilgo at No. 1, who is 7-6 on the season. Add in No. 59 Lynn Kiro (18-8), No. 67 Sarah Dvorak (18-8) and No. 120 Sabrina Federici (17-2), along with Gabriela Talaba (11-2) and Katelyn Jackson (18-8) and Texas Tech has been a tough out in singles.
In fact, Texas Tech has won 77.3 percent of its singles matches during the dual match season, which is the highest percentage in school history.
Texas Tech has also been solid in doubles play as well, winning 70.7 percent of its matches during dual match season. Kilgo and Talaba hold the top spot, while Kiro and Federici secure No. 2 and Dvorak and Jackson team up at No. 3.
After Sunday's match, Texas Tech will continue league play against Oklahoma on Friday at 5 p.m. at the McLeod Tennis Center.
