Texas Tech Moves Up to 19th in the Nation

Tech went 3-1 last week with the program's first Big 12 series sweep over Baylor since 2004.

LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech (22-14) jumped four spots in the national rankings while receiving a No. 19 spot in this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association top-30 poll, the organization announced this afternoon.
Tech went 3-1 last week while sweeping Baylor in a three-game Big 12 series for the first time since 2004. The Red Raiders have now swept seven of their last nine home weekend series - dating back to last season - which includes four Big 12 series.
Dating back to last season, Tech has been ranked nationally 28 consecutive weeks while its highest ranking this season came at No. 5 (Baseball America - 4 straight weeks).
Tech will play its third straight midweek road game on Tuesday, April 14 at Abilene Christian with first pitch set at 6:30 p.m. at Crutcher Scott Field. The Red Raiders will remain on the road for this weekend's Big 12 series at Kansas State, April 17-19, at Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan, Kansas.
