LUBBOCK, Texas -- For the fourth consecutive season, Texas Tech has finished the season ranked in the top five nationally in attendance, announced the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Friday.
Texas Tech finished second overall in average attendance per match, averaging 466 fans per person. For the Red Raiders, the 466 fans per match is the highest average in school history, eclipsing the previous high of 376 fans per match in 2012.
The Red Raiders closed out the season with three straight matches with over 700 fans.
"I cannot thank the fans enough for supporting us all year," said Red Raider head coach Tim Siegel. "I do not know if we would have beaten Oklahoma State and No. 1 Oklahoma without the incredible atmosphere. I am proud of our support as I am of our success on the court this season."
Texas Tech, who finished the season ranked No. 19 with a 19-9 record, was also second in the month of April in attendance average at 822 fans per match.
The Red Raiders advanced to the second round of the 2015 NCAA Championships marking the team's ninth appearance in 11 years.
