White's time of 22.94 was good enough to be a first team All-American, the fifth time in her career she has earned that distinction. She qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships in each year of her decorated Texas Tech career.
"My time at Texas Tech has been special," White said. "It's been an amazing journey. I have been lucky enough to qualify for this meet all four years I've been at Tech, and it's my second-straight year to be first team All-American in the 200. I didn't have the performance I wanted, but I'm still happy with the outcome. I know I have grown so much on and off the track, but I'm proud of myself for what I have accomplished here."
Overall, Cierra White was an 11-time All-American as a Lady Raider, indoors and outdoors.
"[Cierra] is just a sweetie," Texas Tech head coach Wes Kittley said. "She is everything you want a student-athlete to be, and I can't put into words what she has meant to this program. She is an amazing runner, and even a better person. She has been such an incredible ambassador for Texas Tech. I'm going to hate to lose her."
In the women's triple jump, Paetyn Revell capped off an impressive sophomore campaign with honorable mention All-American honors, placing 19th, with a leap of 12.54m/41-1.75.
As a team, the Lady Raiders finished 20th, with 10 total team points, their most points at the NCAA Outdoor meet since 2009, and highest finish since 2008.
Select members of Texas Tech track & field will be back in action at the U.S. Track & Field Championships, June 25-28, back here in Eugene, Ore.
