Kittley wins Big 12 Coach of the Year honors

Wes Kittley has now claimed 15 Big 12 Coach of the Year honors
IRVING, Texas – Head Coach Wes Kittley was named the Men's and Women's Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Coach of the Year for a second-straight season, the league office announced Thursday afternoon. Dating back to the indoor and outdoor seasons of 2025, Kittley has claimed eight-straight men and women Coach of the Year accolades, bumping his career total to 15.

Kittley led the men's and women's teams to a sweep of the conference outdoor titles in Tucson, Ariz., last weekend. The men posted 127 points, winning by 26 points, while the women tallied 119.5 points, securing an 11.5-point margin of victory.
Overall, on the women's side, four event champions were crowned when you include the 4x400 (Collinique Farrington, Mekenze Kelley, Vanessa Balde, Lovina Ewusi) – Tonie-Ann Forbes (100m hurdles), Temitope Adeshina (high jump) and Tamiah Washington (triple jump). For the men, Malachi Snow won the 110m hurdles and Titus Kimaru claimed the 3k steeplechase crown.

When you include three Big 12 cross country titles, Kittley has led the Red Raiders to 20 Big 12 team titles over his 27 seasons at the helm.
Tech will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., next week for the NCAA West First Round Championships as the men compete Wednesday and Friday, while the women compete Thursday and Saturday.
