LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech senior offensive lineman Le'Raven Clark was named to the Sporting News Preseason All-America teams on Monday, his third preseason honor already this summer.
Clark, who was recognized on the second team by the Sporting News, had previously garnered Preseason All-America honors by Phil Steele (fourth team) while also receiving a nod on the Preseason All-Big 12 first team compiled by Athlon Sports.
Clark will likely be a prominent fixture on several more preseason teams and award watch lists after spending the previous two seasons as Tech's mainstay at left tackle. Clark has picked up All-Big 12 first team honors following both his sophomore and junior seasons.
The Rockdale, Texas native enters the 2015 season having started in all 38 games of his Red Raider career. During that time, he has boosted a Tech offensive line that allowed just 13 sacks a year ago and controlled the line of scrimmage as the Red Raiders rushed for 1,836 yards in 2014, their most since the 1998 season.
Clark has been a member of watch lists for both the Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award each of the past two seasons. Both of those awards will announce their respective watch lists later this summer.
The Sporting News will unveil its Preseason All-Big 12 teams in the upcoming weeks.
