Cierra White Advances To U.S. 200 Meter Semifinals

Cierra White will compete in the U.S. 200m dash semifinals tomorrow afternoon.

EUGENE, Ore. -- Cierra White earned a qualification to the women's 200 meter dash semifinals at the U.S. Track & Field Championships, in Eugene, Ore., on Saturday.
White ran a 22.90 to take third place in her heat, which wasn't enough to earn an automatic berth in the semifinal, but was good enough to advance on a time basis.
In the men's junior 1,500 meter final Todd Mickey earned 10th place, with a time of 4:03.30. Mickey took the lead early on and had the race going at a very tactical pace through 800 meters, but was unable to hold on.
Shanice Stewart placed 18th in the women's long jump, with a best mark of 5.91m/19-4.75.
Cierra White's semifinal will take place tomorrow at 2:05 p.m., CST, on the NBC Universal Sports Network.
